If Everyone Followed Advice On The Internet

Imagine waking up one day, and – BAM – just like that, the entire Earth’s population automagically started to follow the hundreds and thousands of advices dished out over the Internet each day. What would the world come to?
A wise one commented, “Accepting that interview shows that you did want the fame. If you didn’t, why did you accept it in the first place?”

Great Advice on the Internet #461: Thou shalt not accept newspaper interviews for fear of being called a fame whore.

  1. Woah, straight forward, direct, one shot hit target… That commentor should get your point by now.
    一针见血! (one needle see blood)

  2. Ooo…good photoshop-ing skills! For a moment there, I was wondering why I haven’t seen this copy of The Star…opps, The Stall, until realization dawned on me…*smacks forehead*

  3. Why the stigma about being labeled “fame whore”? We’re all a little fame-whorish inside. I mean, no one asks to wallow in obscurity. We want recognition of our talents and love from the masses, dammit! We want Oscars! Monuments! Odes! Wee silken panties thrown by horny fans! Cereal boxes emblazoned with our pictures!
Whore Pride, yeah! So no more defensive protestations or cringing apologias, if you please. If God killed hypocrites, 99% of the people whining about how wanting fame is vulgar and déclassé and wrong would have been smote to ashes. And then no one would be left in the world except Benedictine monks. Oh, and you know, JD Salinger mayhaps.

Is this wise commenter a friend? Someone you know? A family member? Someone you look up to?
If not, are you really going to let a total stranger dictate what you do?
    Think about this man.
And yes, the irony of me, a total stranger, telling you to ignore what other total strangers say is not lost on me.
    Have a nice trip.

  6. Woahhhh… Good one Kenny!
Taruh him/her straight to the point! Respect! 😉
I had to look twice at the picture to notice that it was actually photoshop-ed! Great job man!

  7. actually, i do run for presidency just to be femes! is that a crime? *sniff*
btw, Naza shud pay you for the advertising spot, LOL.

  8. The difference between them and you is that they don’t do interviews and then say “I never wanted the fame. Fame just found me.” They know they are famous.
No one said that you shouldn’t have accepted the interview. There’s no way you would have accepted that interview and thought that that would have been then end of it.
Just drop the bull about not wanting to be famous. Please.

  9. Hey dipshit, I think you ARE full of it. You are of average wit and intelligence, and the phrase, “in the land of the really moronic, the idiot is king” fits you to a fuckin t. You may sound a little more tired now, and it might come across to some as being “jaded” but know what? Your true fans, those who enjoy sucking on your blog-dick, are only thirty odd. It’s really ironic, because the only time your blog gets hot is when the shit you say hits the fan. It’s scary but the only reason you’re still famous is because of all the people who love to read your blog because they fuckin hate it so much, like me. So, is this a bad thing or good? Should we give a fuck? Should I? No matter what you say or rationalise, or justify, what you said about su-yin is simply an indication of the kind of person you are, which, in cantonese is called huck sum, or black-hearted. There’s not even a need to debate your rationale or motive or whatfuck, it just shows. It was a flippant comment right? Just dissing her online right? Don’t get me wrong, it’s not like I’m a fan of hers or anything. Ha it’s funny, thinking about it I might actually be a bigger fan of YOU, Kenny Sia, than anyone else! Because why the fuck am I spending time away from some great shuteye just to type this inanity out?
Last point: Those other guys in your media blackout parody are people who hold serious jobs, and it’s irrelevant whether they’re doing it fabulously or in a truly fucked-up way. You’re just a blogger, dude. Whatsamatter, your coconut balls have gone to your thick head now? Plus, those people are famous. I mean, FAMOUS. Uhh…if you still don’t get it…I’ll post again.

  10. I think the both Kenny AND the flamers need to just stop running their mouths, because both sound equally childish. As much as I think Kenny went a little overboard with his comment on Su-yin, he DID apologise, so let’s move on shall we?
Oh, and Kenny, please please please stop bringing up past emo stories. I think somewhere along down the road you seem to have lost the plot with this blog. Remember how you said that in the past you started this blog just so you could keep in touch with friends? Well, what’s up with your blog now? For crying out loud, stop blogging for others and start blogging for yourself. And when I say “for others” I also meant stop letting other people influence what you write about. Just blog like how you used to when you first started ok?

  11. Maybe I think fuckin tulan should come up with some fucking evidence that people read this fucking famous blog becos they fuckin hate it so much, like u.
Cos I think u are fucking lame to think that this blog is fucking famous becos fuckers like u loves to flame it. I think if u are a fucker that hate this, then fucking leave and dun try to bring Mr Famous Kenny down with ur fucking words.
Ya, He is jus a blogger, but well, He’s still more famous than u, fucking shithead.

  12. Kit Fan,
Hold your horses man. I’m a fan, just like you. You read Kenny’s blog because you love him, and I read it because I hate what his voice represents. There are some things in life that you just love to hate, like the way you loved calling me “fucking shithead”. Dig it you mother?
And jeremy, so Kenny should stop letting others influence him right? But what I want to know is, do you, jeremy, count as one of the “others”? I mean, should he not be influenced by you too? And if you’re ridiculous enough to say that he should be influenced by you and not by the so-called
“others”, then you should probably coerce/persuade/beg/plead/ kenny to rename his blog, “When Kenny Sia’s Blog Isn’t Really Kenny Sia’s Blog, BUT Kenny Sia’s Blog as Dictated and Influenced by jeremy.”

  13. Wah…even people who leave comments are not spared! Eek. >_Wah…even people who leave comments are not spared! Eek. >_

  14. Wah even people who leave comments are not spared from being flamed! Eek. >_Wah even people who leave comments are not spared from being flamed! Eek. >_

  15. Dude, fuckin tulan, you have got to chill out… you’re like jumping at any chance to criticize.
If I were you, I’d bash my bed up, and then go watch some feel-good movie with a bunch of friends =)
and yeh we all love fucking around, its cool

  16. In general, don’t hit back laaa… Just ignore the flamers, reading their entries actually rises blood pressure. Prolly, those flamers already have high blood pressure, so don’t let their disease spread.
Although, it seems like a good way to make an entry! 😀

  17. There’s a distinct difference between Britney, Bush, Steven Lim and you. They do want to get famous and maintain their glory. Their aims are contradictory to yours. So your rebuttal can be considered redundant. No offence.

It is always in your choices to reject, but what matters is whether u did reject or not. You accepted, so you have to accept the consequences. And as an adult, you should jolly well know the consequences or rather, rules of the game of fame. Those who argued against this, please consider this quote’s validity, “At a working age, being naive is considered idiotic. Especially in matter such as public relations.”
I like your entries when the entries does not revolve around yourself but on your thinkings. Your sense of humour is not you. Thanks.

  21. By the way, freedom of speech is not equal to free of blame. When you posts something up and no one hinders you, that’s your period of freedom. Period. Thereafter, the moment you type and post your words up, you have to prepare to face consequences. Freedom ma, no?

  22. ballz,
that’s the whole fuckin point ain’t it? i mean, this whole fuckin around, that’s the whole point of communication. Not sure about you or others, but for me, racial harmony, or harmony per se for that matter, is not about being all nice to people all the time even though you’re seriously pissed and affected inside. I remember when I was in school, primary and secondary, and how we used to call each other really racist nicknames, but somehow we never ended up feeling like we have to bludgeon each other. Fuck, I’d even go as far as saying that we loved each other for who we are, which sounds really fuckin phony in this day and age. I mean, do we always have to agree with each other? Is dissent such a bad thing?
So peace, may the force be with you and whatnots. And btw, I don’t have hypertension, I’m merely an adrenaline junkie who can’t stand shit lying around and seeing everyone pretending that it’s not there. I may be an asshole, but dude, aren’t we all, at some point in our lives? Civilisation can only move on when we can take criticism, regardless of whether it is constructive or counter-productive. But then again, civilization could well be heading towards a yawning abyss that’s just round the corner.

  23. Um, no offense – but you’re comparing yourself to the people mentioned in that doctored-up newspaper?
    Arrogance much?

  24. The Stall!
    Hahaha!~
Interesting. But doesn’t the media have their own agenda when they seek people for interviews? And that’s how people in-directly become famous what?
If one does a dumb stunt, say jump off KLCC, that’s seeking attention, or LOA (Lack Of Attention). In other words, pulling off stunts = wanna be famous.
    BC?

  25. So the media and the people are using each other. Media depends on people to make news and in turn, enables them to gain fame. However, people can also depend on Media to become famous. No? Pulling off stunts does not = famous. Those are notorious for commiting dumb stunts. However, accepting an interview does not fufill the requirements of “being famous in-directly”. There is no indirectness there, you accept it. Decision made. Please do not use for fun, laughter and peace for reason. That will sound infantile.

  26. “Notorious” is famous in a bad light. However, it carries negativity with it. That’s why is not equal to famous which is more positive.

  27. eh… how come steven lim is known as the “singaporean singer” on that newspaper?! HE IS NOT A SINGER!!! omg… lol
he got concert in malaysia?? gosh, who would pay to see him in a concert man?! lol
anyway wat is the “msian idol told to keep quiet” thingy about??? what happened?

  28. Leave him be and let the guy writes whatever he wants lah. It’s his blog. It’s on the net and it’s free. No one paid to read his blogs. What’s this comment thread getting to? Counter for customer dissatifaction issit? Haiyo…. got commentor requesting for Kenny ro produce types of blogs he/she prefers some more. Cheh.

  29. No one is forcing him to do anything. It is just preferences of ours. He need not adhere to it, we will respect his decision. However, he himeself said that he wrote more funny entries than entries revolving around him because more people would read it. So what are you “madnoh” complaining for? If every comment based on his good and bad are not based on anything, then no point having the comments colummn.

  30. how cool would it be with a nespaper like that!? -imagines. plus point: juicy gossip gr8 for celeb stalkers, kaypoh asses. minus point: gossip is a load of bullcrap. haha just my little view
