  1. I am so sorry Kenny. There are no words to describe how sad I am for you right now.
All I can do is hope that your father went peacefully and that you were able to spend some good times with him before he passed.

  2. My condolences, Kenny. I am sorry to hear that. Hang in there, and remember the stories that the two of you lived through together. He will always continue to live in your heart

  4. Kenny, He will live on in your memory. Be strong for the family and have a good cry when you got the chance, ok? Take care!

  5. We can say lots of cliches like “He has been released from his sufferings” and “Time heals everything”. But as of now I don’t think any of those words would be of help.
Just stay strong, keep you chin up and I am sure your friends will be there if you need anything.

  6. Thank God for the fact that you were able to be by his side throughout the journey with him.
Im so sorry for your loss, and i just want you to know that people who hardly know you are praying for your family.

  9. Dear Kenny,
I am so sorry. I have been reading your blogs for quite a while, and although you make everybody laugh with your entries, one thing I do know is that your love for your father is very very genuine and clearly… this comes as a big blow to you. I can only pray that you are strong enough to overcome this extremely trying period… and take comfort that you made the decision to come home and spend the past few months with him. He must have been proud to have you as a son.
I am not sure if you realise it, but you have somehow managed to reach the hearts of your fellow “blogders” (ok, I got it from xiaxue)… they laugh with you and they cry with you. Even as I am typing this now, I am trying hard to fight back my tears. You have truly touched the hearts of many. Especially your posts on your father. He will remain in your heart (and most of us out there) for eternity.
Take care of your mother, let her know you will always be there for her. She needs you now.
    Take care and good luck.

  27. NAM-MO O-NI-TOL-FOR
I know it is disheartening for you and your family even though you know this moment would come. In the end, everything worked out for the best, he is now at a better place where there is no suffering, a suffering he had endured as his health declined in the past months.
As you flashed back in your previous blog, I notice that you very much appreciated and learnt from your father the value of hard work and ambition, and how much he meant to you, and that is comforting to your dad and is more than what a parent can ask for. I hope it is just as comforting for you to know that.
    NAM-MO O-NI-TOL-FOR

  28. Hey dude, my sincere condolences.
The next few days will be hectic and stressful since this is probably your first time to deal with such situation. Being educated abroad you may find some of the traditional activities a little difficult to accept, be patient, take a long walk…. think about something to blog, your dad will be glad in another world to know you turn a sad departure into a celebration to enter eternity.
I am sure the humorous nature in you will soon let the sad feelings go and keep the happy moments of being with your dad in your memory.
Looking forward to your humorous post again.

  43. The past 12 hours has been a long and difficult one. I’m overwhelmed with emotions, mostly sadness and anger. I’m still trying to swallow in the fact that I lost my father, that he will no longer be with me to continue on with my journey of life. This reality is hard to accept. I’m still struggling.
I’ve read every single comment here, and I thank each and everyone of you for leaving kind comments and words of encouragement. Its especially heartwarming to hear from strangers and friends alike, from places as close to Kuching and as far as US, UK, Australia. I’m touched that some of you even dedicated entries on your blog for me. Somehow it makes going through the past 12 hours a little bit easier.
*** To my Kuching readers – I understand that my privacy may be compromised following my father’s passing. I ask that you respect my privacy. Please do not disclose any unnecessary information about my family or my job on this site. And please do not disclose the existence of this blog to anyone else in Kuching. As odd as it sounds, I rather as little people in Kuching know about my blog as possible, only because I know how hurtful gossips may be. I enjoy writing, I’m sure many enjoy reading. Please do not be a bad sport and spoil it for us.
Once again I thank you for giving me strength to get through this very difficult time.
