Posted by: Alvina at 19 March 2007 4:35 PM

That indian woman in pink looks befuddled, the one in brown looks pissed and the Mat Salleh woman is obviously checking someone out. Never had a white lady. Whats it made of?

Posted by: rpmnut at 19 March 2007 4:43 PM

Hi Kenny
I was staying in Kch was a few years in the late 90's. I agree on how much it has change.
I used to take bus rides around town, and people would stare at me after they hear me speak English. As thought as i was some damn foreigner. I'm Malaysian alright ....

Posted by: Mancurian at 19 March 2007 4:58 PM

that is like so cool man !

all under one table !

Posted by: benjamin and yus at 19 March 2007 6:32 PM

Dude, your posts no longer have the same "kick". As you grow older, your sense of humour moves on to another level I believe. More mature, less fun (add -ny also can!). Not criticising - just think you have grown out of immaturity, hence funniness. Boo for us!

Posted by: Unfunny Kenny at 19 March 2007 6:56 PM

nice pictures u've got there!
harmonious msia we are yea!
looking forward if u could become the embassador...u sure will do a great job!

Posted by: lily at 19 March 2007 7:29 PM

That black lady looks disturbingly like Edgar Davids

Posted by: Essien at 19 March 2007 7:41 PM

U SHOULD JOINT THEM.

Posted by: HORNY ANG MOH at 19 March 2007 9:27 PM

mah-jong went "international" over 100 years ago. French, Germans, Japanese and Americans have developed their own variations too. it's great to see a game that brings people together.

Posted by: Serenity at 19 March 2007 9:57 PM

wah i missed mahjong...
haha... what's wrong being grown up and mature?
why should kenny lower his level so some of the immature readers would find him funny?
cant please everybody. at least he is happy with what he is doing.
after all, this is a blog.

Posted by: I'm A Chicken With No Name. BWAK BWAK BWAK! at 19 March 2007 9:58 PM

eh... when the blog became so short? not ur style leh kenny..

Posted by: driftKing at 19 March 2007 10:39 PM

i am lame

Posted by: Jim at 19 March 2007 10:54 PM

y do i oways feel tat every post kenny wrote is about promoting stg one??

Posted by: jim at 19 March 2007 10:56 PM

Gee, what am I promoting exactly in this entry then?

Posted by: kennysia at 19 March 2007 11:03 PM

The drink maybe.

Posted by: yongkailoon at 19 March 2007 11:05 PM

Wow, whoever owns the trademark to 'white lady' must be making big bucks right now.

Posted by: kennysia at 19 March 2007 11:09 PM

I can't help but notice this...

How is that game Mahjong when there are so little tiles in the middle of the table? Aren't you suppose to have the "Great Wall of China" in the middle of the table, where players draw their tiles from?

Forgive my ignorance if that is another Mahjong version which I'm not aware of. =)

Posted by: Serena at 19 March 2007 11:23 PM

Kenny, what drink is that?

Posted by: Caine at 20 March 2007 1:14 AM

Kenny, dun you worry...
That Arthur is just an arsehole who's just jealous of you...

Posted by: Irfarn at 20 March 2007 5:21 AM

Posted by: nav at 20 March 2007 7:26 AM

Posted by: dOnNa at 20 March 2007 10:19 AM

better yet when one's daughter (or son, for those who value equality in act, and deed) can marry one of 'them' without raising family anxiety. hope that day comes, everywhere, not just Kuching

Posted by: urbanwriter at 20 March 2007 10:31 AM

update on photo Kenny; the black girl (she's Brazilian from Rio DJ) has left the country with her Danish hubby last month.

the indian lady's from Singapore married to a German now residing in Kch.

there are 2 other places where such a mixed society exists harmoniously; in Miri where there are many Shell wives and in Seria Brunei; ditto.

i'm guessing the Malay and Chinese are M'sians; and probably the Caucasian is married to a local?

nice and different post Kenny, keep it up. don't listen to the detractors; posts should be varied. this is a good one.

oops..sorry for double entry; kindly delete one of them.

Posted by: eonco at 20 March 2007 1:19 PM

HI i'm the malay girl in pink in the photo...

i looked befuddled as in the middle of my game with my mahjong kakis, some dude walked into the patio and happily took our photo which absolutely disrupted my concentration...some of your guesses were correct but some were wild like:

our brazilian friend has gone back to Denmark with her hubby THAT'S CORRECT
(so we are 1 kaki short)...

our Indian friend is from Singapore, married to a German and is now residing in Kuching ALSO CORRECT...

the caucasian is NOT married to a local...guess again

the chinese lady is NOT kenny's mum!!!!

and

I'M DEFINITELY NOT MALAYSIAN...

anyway we play once a week, no money incurred just lots and lots of tea, cakes and friendship.
Also the mahjong we play is western version, the wall is the same but rules are slightly different..
we don't play rowdily (not counting the gossips) in other words, more cilivised compared to any Hong Kong movie or Phua Chu Kang style mahjong :p

yeah we were dressed in our cheong sams that afternoon as it was CNY but usually we play in our bikinis by the pool!!!

Posted by: elle at 20 March 2007 10:00 PM

I like that multi racial photo but it looks more like playing scrabble than mahjong coz of the holder. Normally mahjong does not have that right? Haha.. Good photos!

Posted by: Ah Dom at 21 March 2007 3:38 PM

Haha, I knew an ang mo lady that married a local chinese. Her Hokkien and greater than me and she seen like quite enjoy with Kuching here. Years ago, i was teaching a sibling, their mum was from Australia if i not mistake. Their mum aslo speak some foochow. The most terrible one was my friend was site visting to a village and visit the penghulu house. There suddenly came out a quite beauty ang mo lady and the penghulu intro that is her daughter in law. and his son looks like shit. So some day if ur child marry with some black dude or ang mo you are not need to curious about.

Hey Kenny,

Posted by: AiLing at 22 March 2007 4:54 PM
