The Last Supper

Leonardo da Vinci painted this way back in 1492.

Now, people like me pay 8 Euros (RM40) just to watch this piece of work for 15 minutes. Even a foot massage costs cheaper than that.

From the back wall of Santa Maria della Grazie church in Milan, Italy.

Jesus said to his twelve apostles, "One of you shall betray me."

Happy (belated) Easter, Jesus.

I think you shall pay more respect to Christianity and to Leonardo da Vinci. Do not make fun of Jesus or Christianity.

Nobody force you to pay to visit the painting. You can go watch your movie for a million times, but still it ain't the Last Supper painting.

Posted by: BlogMalaysia.com at 25 March 2008 10:14 AM | Link to comment

1 of u shall BETRAY me... Jesus must be feeling so hurt, helpless, breatheless, devastated, torn apart and so on... & yet can't do anything about it in the name of love for the bigger picture...

Anyone actually enjoy being betrayed???? Anyone???

Posted by: Princess at 25 March 2008 10:21 AM | Link to comment

I read somewhere jesus is a paranoid fella who employed spies to follow his followers around. that's how he found out that Judas was betraying him.

Posted by: Jamilah Subramaniam at 25 March 2008 11:43 AM | Link to comment

You can take picture, but no flash. You might blind Jesus and his friends.

Posted by: Jamilah Subramaniam at 25 March 2008 11:51 AM | Link to comment

Jamilah,

He's God, he knows who'll betray Him. He did not hired spies. Do your research properly! I suggest you refer to the Bible instead.

Maybe I should check with the Bible. I also learned that Jesus studied buddhism when he is in India. Kinda Cool.

Easter celebration means more than anything for the Christians, more important than the Christmas celebration in fact. It is Easter that reminds us of how Christ has continued to live in each one of us who believes in Him eternally... =)

BlogMalaysia, what sort of drugs are you on? How was Kenny dissing Christianity? How did you manage to get that from what he wrote?! Insane. He paid for it, you don't have to be Christian to want to see it, and really you shouldn't read stuff on the Internet if you're going to misinterpret it SO BADLY.

I enjoy your blog immensely but your comment on the legendary Leonardo Da Vinci was of poor taste. Foot massage and one of its kind masterpiece the world has ever seen?

Count yourself priviledged to witness such an amazing piece of art. I would pay heaps more to see it and appreciate every stroke of brush on that painting.

Posted by: Victor Ting at 25 March 2008 6:19 PM | Link to comment

how could you compare a piece of amazing artwork to foot massage

Posted by: stardust at 25 March 2008 6:45 PM | Link to comment

I'm not sure.. i stil prefer d foot massage though :)

Reminds me of Da Vinci Code..

Posted by: ?? at 25 March 2008 6:57 PM | Link to comment

haha, i'm don't prefer foot massage, though i will spent 8 euro on a pizza there though, which is what i did. the church looked so small from outside, and not an art lover, i can't appreciate any strokes inside(though the micheangelo one inside the vatican city left me awestruck).
its just a matter of preference, those extremists out there should just close yourselves in a locked room if you can't take other people's opinion. that's honesty you get it??

Hey Kenny,

I did my research that indicates I need 2 days in advance to get tickets, I went to the Church in Oct last year hoping I can get the tickets but they are all sold out till Dec and they said I need to book online and even online the earliest ticket is still in Dec.

I was so annoyed and only took a picture that's on display........ :(

First, Happy Easter everyone..
Yea, Easter IS the biggest celebration for any Christian coz it brings back the meaning of being one and reminds us of how Jesus died on the cross for us.. all that suffering...

Second, Da Vinci Code is a dumb movie who although was partially based on facts, twisted it all to make it seem like that(the meaning behind the movie). I'm pretty sure it's a counter for Passion of the Christ as it was such a good movie and reinstated many Christian's faith.. and even made some new ones while da vinci stumbled others...

Third... I studied about his painting once.. well.. more like just touched the surface about the painting. Apparently it had loads of meaning behind it... Strongly implying the trinity... =) I would have paid RM100 to see it life too.. XD

I think Kenny gets special privelages to take pictures =.=

8Euros, but I think its worth it. I went as well, and had a good time learning about the history, even if I don't believe in Jesus.

Anyhow... How come you managed to get shots? They told me to put the camera away. Pfft!

Posted by: Jacqueline at 26 March 2008 10:42 PM | Link to comment

Jamilah Subramaniam , from your name i believe you are from some foreign religion ya.?

Maybe Jesus could be blinded by flash, maybe he hired spies.
At least, The Christ in christianity has the courage to show his face, and to be portayed on pictures as memorable to all his followers around the world
Not like someone who, couldn't even show his face to the world. remember the comic artists case? zz

JESUS was born specifically to Die that we be Forgiven. His Rising from the Dead prooved Immortality of our Spirit. Humans highest form of intelligence is both a Blessing and a Curse, because it naturally gravitates to PLEASURE, whatever form that takes. Twisted perversion too often.
Da Vinci Code is a Fictional Story woven around Historical FACTs.
TESTAMENTS in the Holy Scriptures are survivors of Early Christian Zealoted CENSORSHIP to preserve Patriarchial supremacy concentrating on FAITH & OBEDIENCE.
Recently discovered Scrolls in EGYPT PROOVE that there were many other Legitimate TESTAMENTS, and that Mary Magdaline or Mary of Magdalla was indeed JESUS' Favourite Desciple because she Understood his Doctrine Best, and there were Testaments bearing her name. There were also many other Women among his desciples.
Hopefully, some revelations of what the early church destroyed might come to Light as EGYPT has very recently Freed COPTIC CHRISTIANS from forced ISLAMISATION. COPTICS ascribe to GNOSTIC Testaments, a Doctrine of FAITH & WISDOM. Some Scholars attest that Mary Magdaline incorporated Both Doctrines: FAITH, OBEDIENCE & WISDOM, which was in conflict with Roman Politics of Control through OBEDIENCE.
Scholars also attest that "To the Best of Their Knowledge, Jesus was not Married, but if he ever was Mary Magdaline would most likely have been the One".
As a CHRISTIAN, whether JESUS was married or not, in no way Advances or Diminishes his PROPHETIC Status and Doctrine of INCLUSION for All of HUMANITY.
Just sharing what little I've learnt.
