Short Talk:
What were the critics thinking?
The Promise (starring Cecilia Cheung, Nicholas Tse) is hands-down one of the best Chinese movies I've watched in a long time. This is an amazing story of honour, respect, betrayal, and a tragic love story underneath it all. Pity the graphics, which felt a little bit too "computer-generated" at times.
I say watch this flick on the silver screen, and don't forget to bring along a tissue box. You'll need it.
Made-In-Malaysia Robot
This is bad. This is real bad.

Am I the only one feeling slightly perturbed by this 10-foot-tall Malaysian-made robot on display right now at the KLCC LRT station?

Our robot seems perfectly content speaking fluent Bahasa Melayu in his mechanised accent, educating our little kids about the dangers of Aedes mosquitoes and such, while at the same time moving (or rather, jerking) his arms and torso wildly like only a mechanical robot with chronic rheumatism can.

Never mind the flashing red Darth Vader eyes and mouth that looks like a bird's beak. Never mind even the fact that he has bloody LOUDSPEAKERS FOR BOOBS!
Hey, after all, I've met girls with tits so big, they look like they're talking to me half the time. Loudpeakers for boobs is NOTHING.
What disturbed me was this.

That bloody perverted robot has a friggin LCD MONITOR hanging out of his pelvis as his dick!
The worst part is, all these while little kids were looking at the monitor thinking they've learnt something new about Aedes, when in fact they were STARING AT HIS ROBO-MOJO.
OMG WHAT KINDA SICK ROBOT IS THAT?!
Freak!

Hahahahahahaha! That's utterly gross! Gosh, there are like, so many other places to put the monitor, but they actually put it there! Ew!

Only adults will see the robot in that way, I don't think children will see it the same, unless some adult tell them... Aniway, it indeed gives me a good laugh, haha... stupid robot design.

Posted by: Cobalt Paladin at 03 January 2006 1:59 AM | Link to comment
haha.. i've seen it but not in ur perspective! it's really stupid and degrading for a malaysian robot.. plus it's placed at klcc where there are many foreigners there.. -.lll

i see the robot everyday, commuting to and from work. the boobs and dick thing never crossed my mind. but you see it once and it imeediately clicks in your mind, you have a sick mind. =)

Did the kids lick the LCD screen?
Posted by: F.S at 03 January 2006 6:21 AM | Link to comment
Hiya kenny, I started reading your blog last Dec, thanks for the laughs!Umm..the robot is actually one of the things I miss about Malaysia..you know, the kind of stuff that makes you laugh cos its either lame/corny/sad/duhh but that can only be found typically in Malaysia?Like mini sized kancils with ferrari-like engines..where else got such thing wan??You hear BRROOOOMM BROOOM on the streets then suddenly one small kuci fatt kancil come out..hahaha..
But what the heck, its home! :)
Posted by: EL at 03 January 2006 6:37 AM | Link to comment
That would be wrong if kids were asked to play with the touch screen lcd.
Posted by: Will at 03 January 2006 7:23 AM | Link to comment
so they couldn't figure out whether they want a male or female robot, huh?
Posted by: Button at 03 January 2006 8:57 AM | Link to comment
I bet those kids touch the LCD...
And also to contain the spread of germs..KLCC official should put a "rubber" sheat or covering on the LCD so germs do no spread thru bodily fluid such as sweat

Dang!
That is one hell of an ugly robot and to place it in one of our tourists spots in Malaysia is disgracing.

I haven't gone to KLCC in like, a year?
Who the hell designed that robot in the first place? The guy ought to be shot in the nads for that.
Oh well, Malaysia does have loads of 'creative' designers after all...

Robot should go..."Do I make you randy? Do I? Do I?"
Haha! One more for the road... Malaysia Boleh!

I've been to KLCC LRT station for quite a number of times and I notice that ugly robot as well, but I didn't notice that the LCD is actually the robot's dick. How come the robot has boobs and dick at the same time?
Posted by: EngLee at 03 January 2006 10:27 AM | Link to comment
I've been to KLCC LRT station soooo many times....
But it's only YOU Kenny, who takes the time to think of such thoughts hahah
Thank God KL has tourists like you LOL ;D

The look of the Robot is funny but somehow i couldn't really laugh... i think it's probably because it's one of the inventor's sick joke...

Posted by: Sheila at 03 January 2006 11:17 AM | Link to comment
EngLee, the robot can have boobs and a kuku at the same time what... the same reason how Kenny can have man-boobs (lazer shooting ones, i might add) and big kukunuts. :)

[I am also from Perth ... like, who the frig starts a comment like that??? Especially to a guy who USED to live in Perth and now lives in KuCHING??? Really, next they'll be showing shoes!]
I'm also worried about the robot's monitor. It's bigger than mine!!! :-)
